Slupp & Swamy

Who are Slupp & Swamy?

Slupp & Swamy are a Swedish-Jewish violin player and a Canadian percussionist who live in the cultural melting pot of the Netherlands. Here they have fallen in love with and play traditional music that has its origin mainly in, and around, the south eastern part of Europe. They also play Klezmer, Sephardic, and belly dance music. After having played this music for some years, Astrid started composing her own songs, mostly in the musical spirit of these regions.

With four tuned darabukas Rupert combines the role of drummer with that of a bass player, and together with the violin they manage to create a full sound. As well as playing at parties, pubs and festivals, we also specialize in ceremonies, and accompany belly dance performances.
